Who We AreDon Rooks has been in the ministry for 30 years, 7 as Youth Pastor and 23 as Pastor. He was pastor at Bible Baptist Church in Galveston, TX, for 7 years. Rev. Rooks is a Music Graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and received his BA & Masters Degrees in Psychology from Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, Louisiana. Rev. Rooks is a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Sheryl Rooks a pastor’s wife with a special love and concern for others in the ministry. Sheryl has been told that she is very perceptive in distinguishing and discerning problems. With a BA and MA in Psychology, from Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, it has been said that her E-mail address CthruU is very fitting. And Why We Do What We Do Don and Sheryl became involved in this type of ministry through their own disillusions of the ministry, the church and in their own marriage. On the road to recovery through their own pain, they discovered great insight and acceptance. Also, a great love for themselves, each other, and others through God’s amazing mercy and grace. Their goal is to provide help, a listening ear, a safe place, a retreat, direction, and understanding. They have been involved with the Restoration Ministry and SITM (Stress In The Ministry) since their inception 12 years ago. During the past 4 year The Rooks have traveled to other countries for couples and pastors retreats. ER Ministries is available on a love offering basis plus travel expenses for workshops, church and family counseling, and retreats with emphasis on pastor’s and staff.
